Bio

He was born in Meganisi, Lefkada in 1953 and since 1959 he has been a permanent resident of Vironas.

He is a graduate of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Thessaloniki with active participation in the anti-dictatorship struggle which escalated to the occupation of the university as an act of protest against the military junta.

Since 1976, he has worked in secondary education private coaching schools. In 1998 he was appointed as a Mathematics teacher in Greek Secondary Education State Schools. Concurrently, he married Antonia Mitrou and started a family.


During his appointment in public education in several schools in Attica, he engaged in union activities as President of the 6th Teachers’ Union of Athens Secondary Schools from 2011 to 2013.

On his own initiative, during the economic crisis, ‘Koinoniko Frontistio’ was created; a service program offering additional learning support to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Along with other active citizens, in 2010, he also founded the ‘Solidarity Network of Vironas’ which collects food and distributes it to more than 650 families in the municipality of Vironas.
