About our team

The Civil Protection Voluntary Association of the Northeastern Region of Mt. Hymettus was founded by decision No. 3996/2008 of the Court of Athens (mod. 2304/2009). It is a nonprofit association and a member of the Volunteer Organisations Register of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection with the registration number 18/2009.

The association serves the northeastern region of Mt. Hymettus and it is based in Pallini.  It is also a member of SPAYamong other teams which are active on Mt. Hymettus.

The decision to found the association was made in the aftermath of the catastrophic fires in 2007, which unfortunately also affected the northeastern portion of Mt. Hymettus.

Our objectives

  • Create volunteer teams with the responsibility and awareness required to effectively cope with civil emergencies.
  • Patrol the mountain to prevent fires.
  • Provide continuous training to its members and promote environmental awareness with educational seminars.
